Dr. Ganjavian grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. Upon graduating University of Maryland with a degree in Cell & Molecular Biology, he entered the Dental School in Baltimore. After graduating dental school with honors (Magna Cum Laude), he entered the General Practice Residency program in Wilmington and has been living in Delaware with his family since then.
Zahra Ashrafi, DDS

Dr. Ashrafi is a Texas native. She was born in Dallas and has lived in Maryland and Delaware for most of her life. She graduated with a degree in Microbiology from University of Maryland at College Park before attending Dental School. Drs. Ganjavian and Ashrafi are married and have two young sons.

Not Your Typical Dental Office
If you are tired of the tradition of spending long periods in waiting rooms, little time with the doctor, and impersonal care, Crescent Dental may be the perfect dental office for you.
When you arrive in our reception area, you'll be greeted by one of our staff members who knows you by your name. You won't find a closed window with a placard telling you to sign in on the clip-board in front of you. You'll immediately notice the atmosphere is relaxing and refreshing. Our office is decorated with art work that sparks creative imagination.
Our patients choose us because of who we are and what we do, not because their insurance company provided them with a list of "preferred providers" to choose from. We do accept and process payments from all traditional insurances and PPOs, and are in network with Delta Dental Premier plan and Medicaid of Delaware (for individuals 20 years old or younger covered by the State of Delaware plan). We do not accept HMOs, DMOs, and DHMOs as these types of plans are not designed for quality health care. Consequently, we don't have to run our office like a bus station, and you don't have to wait months for an appointment. You are assured that we utilize the latest equipment and materials, and your crowns, veneers, dentures and orthodontic appliances will be made by skilled local laboratory technicians. We will only use our professional judgment and experience and guidelines set by American Dental Association (ADA) and American Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) as our guides when making treatment recommendations, not the rules and restrictions imposed by insurance plans. Please refer to the dental insurance information page for more detailed information on dental insurance. You won't find our reception area crowded. It's not because we're not "busy." It's because we have chosen to work for you and only you during your visit. You will be seen promptly at your appointment time.
